I am SMART!!!

Another fine work experience.

I got a phone call a little while back from a tenant who is immature and sounds like a valley girl. The history is, she always pays late. Last time she came in to pay her rent, I told her if she paid 175.00 more, her latefees would stop because her rent would be paid in full. She did this. I get a phone call from her a month later saying she got a notice in the mail implying that she owed a late fee. She said when she paid her rent the "girl" told her she was paid in full, late fee and all. I asked her who specifically told her that. Here is her reply:

"She was wearing a hat.... and she was really dumb."

Wow, talk about professionalism. There was a long pause, because I am the only person in the office who wears a hat. I told her next time she wants a break to try being nice and professional because calling a person dumb isn't going to make them want to help you out. Did I waive her late fee? Absolutely not. Would I have if she didn't call me dumb? Nope. She pays late and has had 3 late fees waived in the past (obviously not when I worked here). I know what I told her, and I am sticking to my guns! Does that make me "dumb", I don't think so! I love me job (I am totally serious).

This is me saying, "Hi! Welcome to my office. I wear a hat and I am not dumb."

Well, well, well

Look who decided to show everyone! Mr. Sun. Gee, thanks Mr. Sun for coming out today. That was sure thoughtful of you. How was your "Memorial Day Weekend Vacation"? I sure hope it was worth it, because the rest of Utah missed you. Oh, don't feel bad. Rain, clouds, and hail is exactly what we dream of on our one day off in May. Cold weather goes perfect with a BBQ and hanging out on the lawn. Nothing like wet hot dogs, am I right?

Ok, so maybe I am exaggerating a little. Our Memorial Day weekend wasn't that misserable. Although we did stay inside the majority of the time.
Friday--I got off work and went to the eye doctor. My vision has gotten blurry in the past 6 months and I could have sworn I was going blind. Which is funny, because the doctor said I am a -.5, at which Tyler and my mom both laughed and accused me of exagerating. Honestly, it drives me crazy. I hate blurriness, so I am in the percentile of -.5 people who chose to correct their vision. We picked out glasses that make me look hot and smart, which is every girls dream :). I should get them in about a week. The doctor had to dialate my eyes. I have never had eyedrops before. I didn't enjoy it and will continue trying to avoid eye drops at all costs in the future. So, the fun part is I got to wear those attractive sun glasses out in public. I asked the doctor if I would be ok to cook dinner, and he caught my drift and said absolutely no cooking or cleaning, so, doc's orders, we went out to eat.
Saturday--I don't remember Saturday, yep, that's how good it was. (Actually, I just have a bad memory, but there is nothing like talking to a bank teller and they say "how was your weekend?", you think a little and nothing comes to mind, so you say something in effect of "I don't recall"...and 9 out of 10 times the response is "That good huh?" obviously implying that drugs or alcohol were involved. Love it. That's as crazy as my life gets.) Oh--it's coming back to me, we went and saw Drillbit Taylor. I love Owen. I don't remember anything else, and I am sure Tyler will read this and inform me of all the things we did that day...

Sunday--was Sunday. Church, dinner...more dinner, sleep. Good day.

Monday--Tyler and I woke up and went straight to Krispie Kremes and thought for some reason we could stomache a dozen donuts (Kim, remember when we did that?...good times). Needless to say, there are still about 6 on our counter as I type. I got a Dr. Pepper that tasted more like Cherry DP than anything else and Tyler tried there new Carribean donut and said it had to be the worst donut he has ever had, I think he even coughed. Then we took a trip over to good ol' Aunt Janet's and Uncle Jerry's and ate hot dogs and watermelon, chatted about Medical School and the British guy that rubbed me wrong, and adored Kerry's cute kids. Those were the basic highlights. We were both upset about the rain/hail/clouds, but what can you do? Nothing.

So here we are, on a Tuesday that feels a lot like a Monday. I am ok with that. The sun is out which means there are several girls in bikinis breaking the rules in the Belmont Pool.

My give-away

I have talked to a few people and they have mentioned they forget about the opportunity to win free stuff on my shop's blog. So I will start posting what the prize is on here, and you can go enter if you like.

This one ends tomorrow at noon mountian time, and it's cute polka-dot burp clothes! I think it's fun when my friends win, ask Melissa Miles, she one a few weeks ago.

www.lmglam.blogspot.com , just post a comment under the give-away post.

I think it's pretty safe to say that my niece, Taye Lynn, is ADORABLE!!!!

I just saw her this past weekend, and I miss her cheeks already.

The Wise Old Owl

A s I have made mention of before, I take a liking to owls. And just so you all know, I liked owls long before they became trendy. My mom gave me her little owl pendant when I was a little girl, and I still have it.
I made mention to my mom and aunt a few months ago that I would like an owl to sit on my bookshelf, like a symbol of wisdom or something, or just because I like owls. I looked at a few antique stores and they all had 1960's written all over them. You know, the browns, yellows and oranges with the big cartoon eyes. All fun, but not wise looking, as an owl should be.
A little while back, Maren suprised me with this perfect white owl she found at the Sunland Village Community Yard Sale (which I sorely miss). How did she know I was looking for the perfect wise owl? I am not sure, but I am ever so happy with him (and Maren for thinking of me). He sits pirched on my bookshelf guarding our Charles Dickens collection. Thanks Maren, I don't think I could have found a better owl myself. He is so wise looking, and the white is perfect. I have a white figurine-ish type thing on each shelf now. THANK YOU MAREN!!!!

What a world

The other night, Tyler and I decided that a burger would be the perfect late night snack (which rarely happens, just for the record). We decided Wendy's would be the best choice, due to location and time. We were a little worried about quality, it being late a night and all, but we decided to take the risk.

My Single with cheese no lettuce or tomato was great. And Tyler's Bacon Cheeseburger...well, see for yourself:

Wah, wah, wahhhhhhhhh.

Heavy Sigh...

Oh, tenants at Belmont Condominiums, what will become of you?

The latest? Well, I just walked out to the pool gate, which was being held open by a chair, and moved the chair so the gate would remain shut. HOA rules, you have to pay to have a pool key. So, what do I hear? A very large "Boooooo" coming from about 30 people laying out by the pool. I think it's safe to say that Belmont tenants have a high maturity level. Agreed?

More to come from the life of the Assitant "to the" Manager at Belmont Condo's. Stay Tuned. You won't be let down.
