Ah!

So, there is this girl who comes in the clubhouse where I work and she plays the same song on the piano over and OVER again. It drowns out Bon Jovi on our lame Provo radio station. You know its bad if I would rather be listening to "living on a prayer"...which is how I feel when she is in here once a week banging on that instrument in a room that echos. That's all.

Happy Birthday!!

Yesterday was my sister-in-law, Alyse's birthday. So here is a little spotlight on the sister I always wanted:

1. First off--isn't she freaking adorable? I wish I looked that hot on a misty blue beach cruiser!

2. She has amazing taste. Her house is SO CUTE! Green tone-on-tone cabinets in her kitchen and an antique french cream-colored baby grand in her living room. I wish I had pictures!!!

3. She loves Urban Outfitters and actually shops there. It makes me happy that she likes the stuff I like. Not everyone does. She makes a fantastic shopping partner.

4. She is a good listener. She listen to a lot of my whining when I was single and never complained a bit. Thanks!!

5. She has a very contagious laugh. Those of you who know her know exactly what I am talking about. She laughs a lot and I love it!

6. She is the most helpful person I have ever met. She is always a volunteer! Like when I moved to UT, she helped me pack and I honestly don't think I could have done it without her. While the women were watching the men load everything into the u-haul, thinking our part was done, Alyse started helping the men. Put us all to shame!!:)

7. She is such a good mommy and wife! And let me tell you, she makes the best torta's I have ever had. EVER! I will never forget that.

8. I love that she loves yard sales and estate sales as much as I do. Hey Alyse, remember when we drove all the way to Phoenix accidently? Yeah, that was funny.

9. She is cool. We have attended 311(as in the band, not literally 311 concerts) concerts together and both like the same bands and types of music, which is great because Tyson always threatened to break all my cd's or throw them out the window when I was younger because he disapproved with my taste.

10. I love that she fits in my family perfectly. I mean PERFECTLY. I think if I really did have a sister she would have been a clone of Alyse, which would have been weird for Tyson...so it's probably good that didn't happen. But seriously, she is family...none of this in-law crap.

A weekend away

We just got home today from a beautiful, huge house in Midway, Utah where about 6 families bunked for the weekend. Tyler's Aunt Shanon is a joint owner of the house (with all her in-laws) and invited the fam up for the weekend to celebrate Ashley's (Tyler's cousin) graduation from BYU. It was a much needed and well deserved break, especially since us poor students can't take vacations...lame.

We got to stay in the prettiest room. It was on the wing of the house so the ceiling was all vaulted and round with bead board paneling. When I say this house is huge, I mean it. Pool table, TV room (2), 5 large bedrooms (one of which has a huge shower with built in seating and a budea (sp?)), a study, a abasement, 2 dining rooms and a large kitchen...the backyard neighbors a golf couse with a creek and a resourt. Oh...and a hot tub.

I told Tyler that when we are rich (ha) we are going to invest in a get-away-house like that one so all of our family can meet up there. Brilliant idea. We played games, ate amazing food, went shopping in Park City and watched movies.

And best of all, I had the opportunity to get to know more of Tyler's family better. They are so much fun and so nice...and amazing cooks! It was the perfect end to a stressful week. Thanks Shanon and Cal for letting us live in your get-away house for a weekend! We will be more than happy to do it again if you need us too!:)

...and sorry no pitures. We were just so busy having so much fun we never got a chance.

Tucanos=amazing

On Friday, Tyler and I ate at this amazing place. One of my all-time favorites, by far, Tucanos!!

This is me eating a fried banana and drinking my Brazilian Lemonade. De-lic-ious. I looked at the fried banana and was very skeptical...every time I took a bite I was skeptical, and was proven wrong everytime. They are so good!

And this is the happiest I have ever seen Tyler.

Look at him. Completely genuine. He looked like that the whole time we were there, until we were walking out and he informed me that he thought his stomach had a pulse. So, what makes them so special is they have this amazing all you can eat buffet filled with actual good things, not like the traditional buffet. Then, these guys come around and cut you slabs of meat...all different kinds of meat, from beef brisket to tri-tip to chicken wings. And, the grilled pineapple is splendid. We ate so much. SO MUCH!! You feel like you can't quit because what if the next thing they bring out is amazing!!! Parents, we must visit this place when you visit us.

This should be fun, especially for all of you friends, because not a lot of people know about my other blog yet, so the odds are in your favor.

I think I am the fool...

Well, it's April fools day. I am always at a lost with April fools. I think pranks and jokes are funny, but I have always had a problem being the pranker. Here is an example:
Junior high, corn mazes with Kim and her older sister and her husband. We are wondering around in the dark and Kim has this great idea to jump out and scare her sister when she walks by. Little does Kim know, this task was a challenge for me. I wanted to say no...but I had no good excuse to give when Kim asked "why not?". Lame. So we did it anyway---and we were successful, luckily.
Honestly, I think I have prank anxiety. I get really nervous that it will back fire and I will look like an idoit. Like, I jump out of a corn field and scream obnoxiously, while Kim's sister stares at me like I am strange and labels me as crazy.
Pulling a prank means putting yourself out on a limb, and we all know Lindsee is not a risk taker. I am a chicken. I even remember times where my brothers wanted me to do something like "call Tyler and tell him this (whatever this was, I don't remember), it will be funny! He will know you are kidding". I couldn't do it...and so teasing from my family inevitably followed, usually related to being boring or a pansy.
Therefore, April Fools is a day when I reflect on the funny things I could do if I only had the guts, or a guarantee that it would be funny and work out. Maybe someday the world will find a treatment for my condition, prank anxiety. But until then, enjoy your pranks and share them so I can live through you all.
